Robert Mushet and the Darkhill Ironworks
Description
Keith Webb PB 88pp
Robert Mushet is the father of modern steel alloys. His pioneering experiments carried out at his Darkhill Ironworks near Coleford in the Forest of Dean, preceded the work of Bessemer but his attempts to profit from his work ultimately ended in failure. This book seeks to afford him his rightful place in the history of iron and steel making and to act as a guide to both the man and to the historic Darkhill site.
