Sanborn, William B., soft back, 81 pages, Gembooks, 1966.
This book is on the fundamentals of collecting minerals. It has been designed for the mineral hobbyist, both the beginning and advanced collectors as well as the interested student or teacher. It is not a book on how to identify rocks and minerals, a field guide to mineralogy, or one on lapidary arts and crafts. Instead, it places emphasis on those aspects of mineralogy that are most important to the study, enjoyment, and maintenance of a private collection. This means the how, what, and where of mineral and crystal collecting, the physical properties vocabulary of the hobby, as well as the different types of collections and specialisations.
