Dionrwig Slate Quarry remains a fascinating place. When it is realised that, in a slate quarry, as little as one seventh of the excavated rock would become a saleable product, it will be noted that the cost of removing the waste material became a major factor in the success or otherwise of a quarry. The author has examined various methods of accomplishing movement and removal. The various maps depicting the district are examined and commented on. (PS)
